Google Nexus 4

The Good: Google Nexus 4, manufactured by LG is its latest addition to Google’s own branded range with an elegant design and an excellent screen. It runs on Android 4.2, Jelly Bean which offers a good performance as well as other stunning features at an unbelievable price.

The Bad: Even though it has certain striking features, the phone doesn’t have an option of expanding memory. It doesn’t have the options of 4G or flash internet. The phone is equipped with a below average camera which offers poor quality images.

Design: The handset features a standard design of Nexus Smartphone, characterized by curved edges. The glass back panel of the phone has a 3D pattern and the display is lined with a thin chrome strip. The screen is highly reflective and the glass back is a huge fingerprint magnet.

Processor and Operating System: Running on Android 4.2, Jelly Bean operating system; Google Nexus 4 is smooth in performance and is powered with 1.5GHz quad-core CPU ensuring a hitch free experience along with 2GB RAM.

Screen: Google Nexus 4 comes with a 4.7-inch screen size with a resolution of 1280*768 pixels and a pixel density of 320ppi which makes the text and graphics look sharp. More than the visually impressive offering, the Nexus 4 screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating ensures that the device is protected against knocks and drops.

Storage and Connectivity: The phone comes only in 16GB storage variant in India out of which 13GB is user accessible. Even though microSD card is absent, 13GB would be sufficient enough for most purposes. In terms of connectivity, it allows users to wireless transfer details and data between compatible handsets. Other connectivity features include NFC, micro USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Battery Life: The device comes with a rechargeable Lithium-Polymer non-removable 2100mAh battery and according to the claims; it lasts to around 15 hours of talk-time an 290 hours of maximum standby time.

Camera: The phone is equipped with an 8MP camera and offers various features like adjusting scenes, geo-tag, picture size, and change front/rear camera mode. It allows capturing HDR images, which enables to capture contrasting colors. Apart from the Panorama feature, it also gets a neat functionality called Photo Sphere which enables to take pictures from all sides.

Price and availability: The phone is available in Google Play Store and was released recently in India at a price of Rs.25, 999.

Wrap-up: Apart from the camera, mostly all the other aspects go in favor of the phone. In terms of screen, processor and uncluttered software; it offers the best features. Google Nexus 4 is a highly recommended handset for those wanting to join high-end handset revolution.
